Hi class, I thought you might find it useful to see an example of how to complete your homework. Check it out:
The following article "Learning to Thrive with Attention Deficit Disorder" by Allison Aubrey is about a college girl, Emily, who is learning how to overcome obstacles in her life. Learning isn't something that comes naturally with ADD, especially when you are on your own in college. When medication and other alternatives failed, Emily found success through attention deficit coaching. Emily finished her first year of college at Pacific Lutheran University with a 3.4 grade point average and is confidently starting her sophomore year, anticipating the same success.
This article is a wonderful example of self-respect. To respect something is to hold it in high regard. When you respect yourself, you hold a view that you are capable of great accomplishments and personal success, even in the midst of difficulties. Emily believed in herself and knew that she was capable of earning good grades, but she knew that she would need some help to make it happen. She showed respect to herself by seeking the help that she needed. The psychologists coached her through a process of becoming organized. She learned how to break large projects into smaller steps on her own and she applied this knowledge to all her classes. When she received her report card, it was a clear that she worked hard at overcoming organizational challenges to be the best student she could be, demonstrating a consistent respect for herself.
